The Best Non-Toxic Skin Care Products for Dry Skin

You know when people ask you what your skin type is? My response is “all of the above”. I tend to have oily and active skin that also happens to be dry at the same time. So when those dry spells come on, what are my go-to non-toxic, safer skin care products?

I have personally addressed dry skin with these amazing products:

  • Cleansing Balm: This is an oil-based face wash and a fantastic skin cream that can be left on overnight or used under your makeup in the morning. It may seem strange that you could use this product to both clean your skin and hydrate it, but the cleansing mechanism is similar to oil cleansers. For people who still struggle with hydration after using face oils, I would recommend this product. In fact, I’ve been using this recently on dry patches on my arms and cuticles, it’s working wonders. Simply put, this is hands down, the best product for dry skin. Don’t be alarmed by the price tag, it lasts FOREVER.
  • Face Oils: Face oils are great for hydrating your skin and balancing combination skin (dry and oily at the same time). I discuss how face oils can help address and balance out active skin HERE, as I have personally seen a dramatic change in my skin since using these face oils. I personally love these three oils in particular since they absorb easily, don’t leave your skin greasy, and smell delicious. Finally, and as always, they are formulated without synthetic fragrances, which often contain known allergens and hormone disrupting chemicals.
  • Nourishing Cream Cleanser: This is my favorite non-drying face wash. Creamy in texture, this product removes makeup, tones your skin and never leaves it dry. Plus it’s formulated with delicious smelling essential oils.
  • Nourishing Night Cream: This is a simple, unscented, thicker version of the Nourishing Day Cream. It can be used anytime of day, dries matte, and can be layered under your makeup.
  • Rejuvenating Night Cream: Don’t be fooled by the lightweight feel of this moisturizer, it’s incredibly moisturizing and also has ingredients that help with dark spots and fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Soothing Baby Oil: Even though this is formulated for babies, I love to use this on my whole body. The product is best applied right out of the shower when your skin is damp. The baby oil is thicker than most body oils, which helps quench my thirsty skin.
  • Organic Coconut Oil: One of nature’s finest products, simple, yet a little greasy, coconut oil is great for moisturizing your whole body. I suggest applying after a shower or bath and wearing some loose fitting clothing while the product absorbs. I wouldn’t recommend hopping into bed (you’ll stain your sheets) or throwing on a silk blouse. But, this product is affordable, smells delicious and is easy to find.

Do yourself a favor, invest in safer skin care that will hydrate your skin and skip all the toxic chemicals.
